Most Indians Plan To Travel Abroad In The Coming Months: Airbnb Survey

As international border restrictions related to COVID-19 have gradually eased in recent months, travelers from India are planning their next overseas trip. According to a survey conducted by online accommodation platform Airbnb, nearly three-quarters of respondents would like to do so in the near future.

The majority of Indians surveyed, 75%, said they plan to travel abroad in the near future. More than a third of them (34%) plan to do so within the next six months, according to Airbnb.

In terms of destinations, the study shows that about 50% of Indians plan to travel to Asia-Pacific countries, with Australia, Thailand and Indonesia topping the list of the most popular destinations.

Since the outbreak began over two years ago, Airbnb reports that Indian travelers are now dreaming about their next international trip and that "over 70% of Indians are very excited about the opportunity to travel the world."

Interestingly, about three-quarters of currently employed Indians said they would like to combine work with travel abroad, he added.

In addition, about 6 in 10 Indians surveyed said they were more likely to travel abroad during off-peak times than before the outbreak.

Amanprit Bajaj, CEO of Airbnb India, South East Asia, Hong Kong, said:

“After being unable to travel abroad for a long time, many are excited about the long-awaited overseas trip that we see in our Airbnb searches following the news of some borders reopening,” he added.

According to an Airbnb survey, 51% of travelers from India believe international travel is a way to broaden their horizons and experience other cultures.

“Nearly a third (32%) of Indians surveyed later said that international travel plays an important role in connecting with friends and family,” he said. Pitan-Pat direction.
