New Research Shows Indians Are Keen To Explore International Destinations Once Again

Restrictions at international borders have been slowly eased in recent months, prompting many to start planning their next international trip. A new study by YouGov and Airbnb found that about three-quarters of Indians plan to travel abroad in the near future, and more than a third plan to do so within the next six months. More than 70% of Indians love to travel abroad.

About three-quarters of Indian workers said they would consider a combination of work and travel, citing fundamental changes to the way people live and work after the show.

The main conclusions of this study:

1. More than 70% of Indians surveyed say they are happy to be traveling abroad again, and more than a third (37%) strongly agree. 2. Most Indians surveyed (75%) said they would like to travel abroad in the near future. 3. More than a third of those planning to travel abroad (34%) plan to travel within the next six months. 4. Nearly half (48%) of Indians surveyed said that if they could, they would consider traveling to an international destination in the Asia Pacific region. Australia, Thailand and Indonesia are some of the most sought after destinations in the Asia Pacific region.

As the travel revolution develops, our thinking about international travel also evolves. During the pandemic, we have seen major changes in the way people think about travel and life, and the boundaries between them remain blurred. For many, this seems to apply to international travel as well.

In India, more than half of those surveyed (59%) said they were more open to international travel than before they exploded at peak time of year. From now on, many people who are currently working are also open to the idea of ​​combining work and traveling abroad. This is the case with three quarters of respondents in India. Many Indian tourists believe that international travel is an important resource for broadening their horizons and connecting with other cultures. This is true for more than half of the Indian respondents (51%).

Nearly a third of Indians surveyed (32%) said that international travel plays an important role in connecting with their friends and family. The number of respondents who want to travel abroad expresses their desire to find out destinations they have never visited. This represents more than a quarter of Indian respondents (27%).
