Experience a special occasion dedicated to everything described in "World Artichoke Capital". The Castroville Artichoke Festival will return to the Monterey County Fair for a weekend showcase of the best chefs in Monterey County with family-friendly activities and live entertainment. Try unique artichoke dishes with the ever-popular fried artichoke and learn about the top producers in the region. California State Park Week - June 14-18
Join us to celebrate the first annual California State Parks Week by exploring six responsible parks in Monterey County. As part of the June 17 Surveillance Day, Monterey State Historic Park invites visitors on a tour of the historic site to learn about the preservation of California's oldest buildings. After your mountain climb, visit the newly opened Pfeiffer Falls Trail in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. The high-speed and family-friendly event, held at the famous Laguna Seka Weathertech Racecourse, brings together more than 180 riders to compete in seven road races: HONOS Superbike, Supersport, Stock 100, Twin Cup, Junior Cup, King of the Excavators and Heritage. Enjoy qualifying matches on Friday before the two full-day races on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket packages allow open race blocks on Saturdays to meet cyclists and ride the famous track.
California Rodeo Salinas - July 21-24
Because it is California's largest rodeo, the event was held at the Salinas Sports Center and featured performances by American cowboys and girls. This year's director includes singer Gregory Porter, Cuban pianist and composer Chucho Valdes, who has starred in La Creation, a women's supergroup, Artemis and more.
