This week, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lowered travel alerts for several countries, including some popular travel destinations, such as Canada and St. Lucia.

Overall, the agency downgraded 14 destinations to "Level 3", indicating a "high" level of COVID-19 infection, but advising people to avoid traveling there altogether. Each of these goals has previously been categorized as "Level 4".

Destinations now labeled "Tier 3" are Antigua - Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Iran, Libya, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Lucia and Suriname.

The CDC considers "Level 3" as the target, with 100 to 500 cases per 100,000 people in the last 28 days. The agency recommends that people be "vaccinated" with the COVID-19 vaccine before heading to a "Level 3" destination - if they are not, "avoid" traveling there.

Although 96 destinations are still classified as "Level 4", CDC did not add any new destinations to its maximum travel offer this week.

The alarm went off as countries around the world, including Canada, began lifting the COVID-19 border system, where the country eliminated the need for pre-vaccination for vaccinated travelers. Similarly, according to the Belize Tourism Council refuses to test vaccinated visitors before traveling, but travelers are required to have official travel insurance.

And a number of countries classified as Level 4 have completely lifted the ban on the epidemic, such as Sweden, Iceland, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

However, all foreign travelers entering the United States, including U.S. citizens, must be checked within one day of entering the country, regardless of vaccination status.

Last week, the CDC also lifted its cruise ship warning in the United States for the first time in two years. The company currently advises all travelers to be familiar with their COVID-19 vaccine before boarding.
