The Philippines Pulls The Plug On Pcr Test Ttr Weekly

MANILA, May 31, 2022: Effective May 30, 2020, fully vaccinated passengers entering the Philippines will no longer be required to present a negative test (RT-PCR) upon arrival, the Philippine News Agency reported Monday.

The final decision applies to travelers aged 18 and over who have received a Covid-19 vaccine.

Excluded from the pre-release RT-PCR requirement are people between the ages of 12 and 17 who have received two injections of the Covid-19 vaccine and those under the age of 12 coming with the vaccine or enhanced parents or guardians. In addition, travel insurance requirements have been removed.

Passengers who are fully vaccinated must present proof of vaccination and hold a passport that is valid for at least six months. Temporary visitors must be in possession of a valid return ticket within 30 days of arrival at the port of departure or destination.

Acceptable proof of vaccine against Covid-19 is the World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prevention, VaxCertPH, national or national digital certificates from abroad receiving VaxCertPH and other IATF approved proof of vaccination.

Uninserted passengers

Unaccompanied passengers, partially vaccinated or partially vaccinated must present a negative RT-PCR test or a negative rapid laboratory test of an antigen administered and certified by a healthcare professional within 48 hours.

In addition, the facility must be quarantined before receiving a negative RT-PCR result on the fifth day of arrival in the Philippines. They too have to quarantine him at home for 14 years.

"As it is more convenient for tourists to visit the country, health and safety will remain a priority for the DOT," Tourism Minister Bernadette Romula-Puyat said.

"DOT sees this development as a victory for the local tourism industry as attracting more tourists to the country will bring more revenue to our SMEs (micro, small and medium sized enterprises) and restore more jobs and livelihoods to the industry." he added.

While travel insurance is not required, it is still highly recommended for inbound travelers. Regardless of the country of origin, all types of vaccination certificates are also accepted.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Tourism, 517,516 foreigners visited the Philippines from February 10 to May 25, 2022.
